Nick Verreos / David Paul
After quickly being picked up by Henri Bendel in the Spring of 2001, Nick and David officially launched NIKOLAKI with a complete collection in the fall of 2001. Their goal was to provide women with a high-end, young designer line consisting of silk charmeuse, grecian-draped jersey dresses, as well as contemporary separates. In recent seasons, NIKOLAKI's retro-inspired jackets, pencil skirts and silk dresses have been highly sought after, and have been carried in stores such as Nordstrom, Fred Segal, Diavolina, Aero & Co. and Mushi Mushi. Since their launched, NIKOLAKI has been shown at Smashbox Fashion Week Los Angeles and featured in various publications including WWD, Nylon, Ocean Drive, Lucky, People Magazine, Us Weekly and California Apparel News.
Their celebrity clients have included Desperate Housewives Eva Longoria and Brenda Strong as well as Patricia Arquette and singer Nikka Costa. Nick and David designed Nancy O'Dell's dress as host of the Miss Universe Pageant, as well as Miss California's Gown for the Miss USA Pageant seen by 25 Million viewers.
Nick Verreos
Best known as one of the breakout designers from Bravo's Project Runway 2, Nick Verreos quickly became one of the favorites to win and a fan favorite for his talent, skill and design ability. Nick was the winner of the now-infamous Barbie Challenge, in which he designed an unforgettable outfit for My Scene Barbie. The Barbie was produced by Mattel and sold on the Project Runway Web store as well as in Toys ‘R’ Us and was featured in People and TV Guide magazines.
Since Project Runway Nick has been flown to Torino, Italy to cover the Olympic Games for NBC, designed the Heineken Green Ribbon for the 2006 Latin Billboard Awards in Miami as well as continued to stay in the Media spotlight by appearing as a Fashion Expert on shows such as The Hills, The Simple Life, the WB's new hit show CROWNED, Bravo's Work Out and even host of TV GUIDE's Reality Chat and The Fashion Team. He was also tapped by People Magazine to be the writer of People.com’s only recap blog for Project Runway, which is read by millions on a weekly basis and Nick also writes a bi-monthly column on fashion for Frontiers Magazine as well as his own weekly blog for Bravotv.com. Currently, Nick has signed on with MSN, to be part of the “Glam Squad” for the launch of their new project entitled Style Studio. He will be sharing with viewer’s valuable Fashion tips and advice.
Recently, Nick became the official spokesperson for the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), the school where he teaches part-time and in one of his most exciting projects, Nick designed his own Exclusive line of Prom Dresses for Windsor Fashions which quickly sold out across the country.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Nick Verreos spent his childhood in beautiful Caracas, Venezuela and was later raised in the San Francisco Bay Area where he completed his secondary education. After high school, Nick went on to attend the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/International Relations. He then decided to pursue his first love, fashion. After UCLA, Nick attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles (FIDM), where he graduated Cum Laude from the Advanced Fashion Design Program.
David Paul
A native of Southern California, David Paul is truly a representative of the melting pot of American culture. Born to a Mexican-American mother, whose own parents immigrated from Guadalajara and Hermosillo, and an Architect father, who hails from Louisiana, David spent his childhood growing up in sunny San Diego. Heavily influenced by his artistic parents and the stories of his grandparents falling in love while performing in the theater, David realized his own love of theater and the arts. After immersing himself in the performing arts as a child, David left San Diego to attend the University of California, Los Angeles where he received his B.A. in Theater Arts, and later his M.F.A. in Costume Design. After graduating, David began working in the entertainment industry, building an extensive resume for himself by designing costumes and working on shows such as Queer Eye for the Straight Girl, Passions, Undressed, and numerous other productions on MTV, ABC, FOX and the WB. David has also worked alongside Andre Leon Talley for Vogue magazine and with such illustrious photographers as Arthur Elgort, Regan Cameron, Noe DeWitt and Amanda DeCadanet, styling for Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum, Vanessa Paradis, Twiggy and Heather Graham.
